The Powell Forest ( qathet ) Canoe Route was first developed by a group of Powell Riverites who had a vision to link up a series of lakes into a rustic route. In doing so they created the route we know today. The Friends of the Powell Forest Canoe Route Society wants to rekindle that spirit. Since about 1990, the route has contributed to our economy and has provided us with a great canoeing, hiking, walking recreation opportunity for more years than that. It's out there and it can use your support.
